Last year, in the month of October, a shocking turn of events took place when Puneeth Rajkumar passed away after suffering from a sudden heart attack. Puneeth had previously complained to his wife Ashwini about feeling uneasy after which they had headed to the hospital. Unfortunately, Puneeth passed away on his way to the hospital, at the time Puneeth was just 46 years old.
March 17th marked the 4th birth anniversary of the actor Puneeth Rajkumar, and to further accentuate the event, his last movie, James, was also released. Many of his dedicated fans poured out their hearts for the Kannada Superstar across the country. Many fans also were at their limits and wished for the Superstar to still be alive and with them.

Explaining the movie and concept of the movie James, it is an action-thriller movie that is directed by Chethan Kumar. The film is produced by Kishore Pathikonda under Kishore Productions.
The movie James stars Puneeth Rajkumar and Priya Anand as the leading cast. In an interview, the director commented on the release of the film, saying, “Fans were expecting for the film to release on 17th March, which also happens to be the birth anniversary of Puneeth Rajkumar. As a team, we still are recovering from this unexpected shock, but I assure the fans that they will not be left disappointed. We will soon be meeting after all of the formalities and ceremonies are finished so that we can discuss the further courses of action that will be needed to take place for completing the film. All of my life, I have waited to direct Puneeth in one of my films, but unfortunately, I cannot even begin to fathom that this will end up being one of his last ones.”
After the demise of Puneeth Rajkumar, he donated his eyes according to his father’s wish, and after he passed away, a state funeral was arranged for the star. The body of Puneeth Rajkumar was kept and preserved in the Kanteerava stadium for 3 days so that celebrities and fans could pay their respects to him. It was reported that more than 25 lakh people had come to pay their respects to the late Kannada Superstar.
