Tanushree Dutta in Ashiq Banay Aapne
Aashiq Banaya Apne was an average film but Tanushree’s role was loved by fans as there were many romantic and erotic scenes in the film which Tanushree played very well. However she wasn’t giving hits which unfortunately resulted in not getting more films for her. In 2006 she was featured in a song in the Shadi Kapoor starrer film 36 China Town. Later she was part of some low budgets as well as high budget multistarrer films that include :
- Run Bhola Run
- Ramaa – The Saviour

- Mr. Fraud
- Horn Ok Please

Her last film Run Bhola Run was in 2011 after which she left India and moved to USA and totally cut herself from any kind of media interactions. She made a comeback in 2018 and gave an interview to Zoom where she made some big acquisitions against Nana Patekar. She accused Nana of sexually harassing her on the sets of the 2009 film Horn ‘Ok’ Pleassss. This incident also began the trend of Me too movement in India. Noticeably Tanushree Dutta also lodged a complaint against Nana Patekar in 2008, where she filed a complaint with the Cine & TV Artists Association (CINTAA), however no action was taken on the case.
In 2018, after Tanushree Dutta’s claims all the media focused towards this news and it became the hottest topic at that time resulting in CINTAA issuing an apology to Tanushree Dutta. However no action was taken as the case was more than 3 years old.
A journalist named Janice Sequeira stood with her as she claimed herself to be eye witness of the incident. Tanushree Dutta also mentioned that MNS party on orders of Nana surrounded and bashed up her car and choreographer Ganesh Acharya helped Nana in the whole incident. Later she also accused Director Vivek Agnohotri of using inappropriate words against her at the sets of the film Chocolate. After the accusations, MNS filed a defamation case against Dutta. Followed by two legal notices from Nana Patekar and Vivek Agnihotri.
In 2019, Nana Patekar was cleared of the sexual harassment charges by the police and later police declared her claims as malicious” and “out of revenge”. In 2020, Tanushree gave an interview where she talked about her potential comeback in Showbizz, she talked about being in contact with few South film Managers and some casting directors in Mumbai for some big projects. It would be very interesting to see her comeback on big screen and we wish her all the best.
