Akshay Kumar recently expressed admiration for Vivek Agnihotri’s freshly released “The Kashmir Flies”. The film starring Anupam Kher, Mithun Chakraborty, Darshan Kumaar, Pallavi Joshi, and Chinmay Mandlekar has created a lot of buzz at the box office.
Released on March 11, the film has already made more than 200 crores in the box office and has received appreciation around the world. The film highlights the cruelty of the Kashmiri Pandits and their evacuation in 1990.
In an event attended by Akshay Kumar and Vivek Agnihotri at Bhopal on Friday, the former was found praising the movie. Sharing his thoughts on the movie he admitted that the wave of “The Kashmir Files” has drowned his Bachchhan Pandey in the box office. Though it hugely impacted his movie, he feels Kashmir Files is like a blessing and its performance has left the audience surprised.
What more did Akshay Kumars share in the interview?
While speaking to the audience, Akshay said, “ We all have some stories to tell. Some are heard and some are unheard. Though cinema is a medium of entertainment, it’s not the sole purpose. Some films also tell the truth and bring change. By making this film, Vivek Ji has shown a heart-wrenching and painful truth of the Kashmiri Pandits in front of the world. The Kashmir Files came like a wave and shook all of us.”
However, he also humorously added that “ Though, it is a different thing that the wave even drowned my movie”. While The Kashmir Files has already collected 211.83 crores within 15 days of its release in India alone, Bachchan Pandey fails to meet the expectations of the audience and gets a dull response even after a week of its release.
Later on, Vivek Agnihotri shared the clip of Akshay Kumar speaking at the Chitra Bharti Film Festival on his Twitter handle and thanked him for his kind words. The festival is held from March 25 to March 27 every year at Makhanlal Chaturvedi National University of Journalism and Communication.

Along with that, many renowned names from the industry such as Aamir Khan, Priety Zinta, Yami Gautam, Aditya Dhar have also come forward appreciating“The Kashmir Files”.
