Virat Kohli shared his views on equal parenting. Bringing up a kid is a major duty for parents, and it necessitates both mother and father’s presence. In a recent talk about equitable parenting, actress Geeta Basra discussed paternity leave and applauded Virat Kohli for bringing the subject to light.
To remember, Virat Kohli took paternity leave during the Border-Gavaskar tournament in 2020 to be with wife Anushka Sharma at the birth of daughter Vamika. His move was applauded by everyone.
In an interview with Etimes, Geeta, who has two children with Harbhajan Singh, discussed how parenting necessitates the presence of both parents. She also stated that, while paternity leave is normal in the UK, where she was reared, it was brought to prominence in India when Virat Kohli took it for his wife Anushka after the birth of their daughter Vamika. Harbhajan, according to the mother of two, is a ‘hands-on’ father who is equally concerned with the raising of Hinaya Heer Plaha and Jovan.
What Virat Kohli says about Equal Parenting?
Geeta informed the portal, “Raising a kid is as much a father’s job as it is a mother’s. Paternity leave is prevalent in the United Kingdom. Many people in India are unaware that such a thing exists.
It’s fantastic that Virat Kohli brought this issue to light. That consciousness must exist. Parenting is a team effort. As we talk, Bhajji is changing our son’s diaper. He is a hands-on father.”
Jovan Veer Singh Plaha, Harbhajan and Geeta’s second child, was born in July 2021. Prior to it, they were parents to their daughter Hinaya Heer Plaha. Virat and Anushka, on the other hand, became parents in January 2021.
Their daughter Vamika was born on January 11, and the two have been fiercely protective of her ever since. Anushka and Virat have often asked the paparazzi not to photograph their kid and to respect their privacy.
