2 states actor Shiv Kumar Subramaniam passed away last night. His funeral will take place on Monday. As soon as the news of his death spread, heartfelt condolence messages began to be posted by eminent personalities in Bollywood.
Arjun Kapoor who worked with Shiv Kumar in 2 states, paid tribute to his co-star through an Instagram post. Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap also dedicated an Instagram post to the late actor. He also shared a picture of Shiv Kumar along with a caption, “I owe so much of what I am to Shiv Dada and we hadn’t been in touch for long with meowing to my continuous bad health and state of mind”.
Some Details about Shiv Kumar Subramaniam
Shiv Kumar Subramaniam was an Indian actor, play writer, theater artist, film and play director, and screenwriter. Born on 23 December 1959, he was a graduate of English Literature. He began his acting career when he joined Naseeruddin Shah’s theater group in the 80s.
He then met Vidhu Vinod Chopra who asked him to write the screenplay for his movie “Parinda”. He wrote the screenplay for Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi directed by Sudhir Mishra as well. He was seen in supporting roles in both the movies.
Subramaniam played the role of a school principal in Rani Mukherji starrer movie “Hitchki”, a maths teacher in ” Stanley Ka Dabba”. He appeared on Color’s TV serial Mukti Bandhan in the lead role. His last film was “Meenakshi Sundareshwar” as Sanya Malhotra’s father.
Director Hansal Mehta also paid tribute to the late actor by messaging, “Terrible news to woke up to. Shiv Subramaniam gone. Heartbreaking”. Be free of pain and rest my friend”.
Among others who expressed grief over the demise of Shiv Kumar Subramaniam are Sandhya Mridul, Bharti Singh, and Maanvi Gagroo. He lost his only son two months back due to a brain tumor. His cremation will take place at Mokshadham Hindu Crematorium. He is survived by his wife Divya.
