Yami Gautam recently said that she wore her mother’s saree to Aditya Dhar‘s wedding. She also revealed how some ‘mean’ designers refuse to let you wear their clothes because you aren’t so and so.
Yami remarked in an interview with a news website that her wedding was an expression of her personality and key principles. And she was fortunate to find a boyfriend who shared her sentiments. She believes that the wedding is your day, that you should do whatever makes you happy, and that no one should tell you otherwise.
The actress went on to say that she has had the wonderful fortune of working with several excellent designers. Even in the fashion sector, she claimed, some high-end designers refuse to offer you their clothing because you aren’t such and so. It’s the entire system that’s at fault.
Yami Gautam recalled an Incident
Yami recalls someone once telling her, “That lehenga is not for you,” since it “simply doesn’t go with that designer.” Yami believed it was cruel, and that no one should make another person feel that way, or think that something is not meant to be. However, the actress noted that this isn’t true for all designers; some of them are quite talented and have a positive attitude.
Yami resolved from that point to never allow someone to make her feel horrible about herself. You’re doing well in whatever you’re doing, she says, and you should never attempt to fit into someone else’s ‘attitude.’
The actress said, “I’m going to wear my mother’s saree because of how I feel about it and how I connect with that emotion, and because of the memory it holds for her mother and now her too.” Their rituals were very essential to her, according to her, and assimilating whatever they were doing was of paramount significance to them, which they accomplished.
