Ajay Devga is back with his third direction, “Runway 34” after six years gap. He shared why he chose to direct the film. He told that the writers came to him two and half years ago with a script based on true events.
He liked the script. But he asked them to make some changes to it. After that, the writers didn’t get back to him. He also forgot about the script. Suddenly, during the Covid-19 lockdown, he remembered it again and called the writers.

He asked them,” Have changes been done in the script as per his request”? They said: It is done. We have been waiting for you to get back to us”. I asked them to come. When I heard the script, I liked it. We worked on it for 4-5 months. I got so involved that I decided to direct it.
Runway 34 is an upcoming movie directed and produced by Ajay Devgn. The film is a thriller drama. The movie has been inspired by a true incident. It was a Doha to Kochi flight of Jet airways when the incident took place.
This incidence took place in 2015. Ajay Devgn is playing the role of pilot Vikrant Khanna. The story revolves around Captain Vikrant Khanna, a flying prodigy whose flight takes a mysterious course after takeoff from an international destination.
The flight had a narrow escape as it had to face difficulties landing at the airport due to bad weather and unclear visibility. This episode of dangerous landing is investigated by Amitabh Bachchan in the movie.
Amitabh Bachchan is playing the role of an investigation officer, Narayan Vedant. He made his directorial debut in 2008 with “U Me Aur Hum” in which he was paired with his wife Kajol. Runway 34 is his third directorial movie.
The release date of the movie will have a clash with Tiger Shroff and Tara Sutaria starrer “Heropanti 2” at the box office. A couple of days back, both Ajay Devgn and Amitabh Bachchan got engaged in a Twitter banter accusing each other of breaking the rules as a part of the promotion of the movie.
