It’s not surprising that KGF 2 makes the list since so many other South Indian movies are enjoying phenomenal success. KGF: Chapter 2 has smashed and rewritten all box office records, earning Rs. 31 crores net with only advance ticket sales on the first day.
The Prashanth Neel film was historic from the start, but no one expected it to challenge, if not outperform, War in terms of bookings. Since the release of War in 2019, the opening day advance of KGF 2 has been greater than the total day collections of all Bollywood films.
In comparison to Bollywood blockbusters such as Gangubai, Sooryavanshi, 83, etc., KFG 2 has topped them all. The booking ticket on the first day has also topped the lifetime business of many Bollywood film releases.
KGF 2 Breaks The Bollywood Hit List
KGF 2 has set the cash registers ringing in single screens and multiplexes alike. The Yash film has sold tickets for more than half of the total occupancy, and this figure is projected to rise further throughout the day.
The film is now on track to surpass War’s first-day gross of Rs. 51 crore. If audience feedback is positive, KGF 2’s opening weekend will be close to Rs. 200 crores and the film will set a record that will stand unrivaled for the foreseeable future.
Only a handful of films in the history of Indian cinema have elicited such a response from Hindi belts. This has happened frequently for Salman Khan flicks from 2010 to 2019, with Dhoom 3 and Baahubali 2 among those on the list. KGF 2 has entered the prestigious list of films with extraordinary pre-release excitement, and if the reports are accurate, it would create new records in Hindi belts by the conclusion of its run.
