New images from the set of Margot Robbie’s upcoming live-action Barbie movie have arrived, and Will Ferrell is seen spending the day on set with Margot Robbie!
On Sunday afternoon (June 26) in Los Angeles, the 54-year-old actor arrived on the set of the highly-anticipated upcoming movie Barbie wearing a face mask.
Will wore a light pink dress shirt paired with a bright pink tie as he joined Margot, on set. Whereas while chatting with crew members under a giant black umbrella, Margot was seen wearing a pink vest with matching flared pants and a gray duster.
In the movie, the character Ken is played by Ryan Gosling. He was spotted filming scenes with Margot earlier this week.
Robbie plays the title role in the live-action adaptation alongside Ryan Gosling as Ken. They’ll be joined by a cast that also includes Will Ferrell, Kate McKinnon, America Ferrera, Michael Cera, and Issa Rae.
Barbie’s cast isn’t the only thing that makes it exciting; Baumbach and Gerwig wrote and directed the film. It will be Gerwig’s third solo directorial effort, following Lady Bird in 2017 and Little Women in 2019.
As a matter of fact, Gerwig was nominated for an Oscar for both films, with Lady Bird earning her her first (and only) nomination for outstanding director. It is understandable that some naysayers dismiss a film such as Barbie as frivolous given this amount of praise.
With so many people following the Barbie production closely, there’s a very high chance that it will be one of the biggest films of 2023. Barbie is directed by Greta Gerwig and is scheduled for release on July 21, 2023.
